The steps
  • Writing a narrative essay.
  • Learning how to search the Internet.
  • Becoming familiar with a word-processing program (MS Word).
  • Learning how to e-mail.
  • Sharing the edited version, by e-mail, with students in other centres.
    • NOTE: This activity can be completed without exchanging it with other centres. Students will submit a final printed version of their narrative essay. These can be posted on the bulletin board or on the Internet for others to read.
  • Writing a narrative essay.
  • Peer editing.
  • Obtaining and giving feedback on the narrative essay.
  • Using a word-processing program.
  • E-mailing.

Students will learn how to:

  • research "narrative essay" on the Internet.
  • organize and share the information found on the Internet.
  • choose a topic.
  • take notes.
  • organize their essay.
  • use the word-processing program that is available in the school.
  • write a first draft of a narrative essay.
  • edit an essay.
  • peer edit.
  • communicate (e-mail) with students from other centres.
  • send and receive e-mails with attachments.

Students will be evaluated according to their:

  • participation in lecture/discussion on narrative essay writing.
  • participation in class discussions on their research.
  • effective use of computers (Internet research, word processing).
  • ability to send and receive e-mail texts, attachments and feedback.
  • completed narrative essay.
