• A good description helps to sell the product. Some of the students wrote better descriptions than I could. Some students wrote very confusing descriptions and these poor descriptions resulted in poor sales. I let them put up descriptions without editing. Both groups found writing to be a valuable skill and our good writers were sought out as precious partners.
  • It was worthwhile to allow the students some time to read the descriptions written by other sellers of similar products.
  • We would review them after the sale. We critiqued our descriptions in class; the students came up with some great changes.
  • We set up an e-mail account with Hotmail and all of the students had access to the e‑mails. Students were responsible for communication with their own customers. We did have some problems and misunderstandings, so the teacher has to monitor all the correspondences - usually as a Carbon Copy (CC). I did have to take over one account as the student and client became hostile
