Tutorials

  1. "Viewlets" are good learning tools for those who don’t have much (computer) experience. Great for visual learners! (A viewlet is an animated presentation with text-bubble or voice commentary to guide you through the process.) Choose Computer Operations for a very basic approach to learning about Windows or you can go to another site that uses "viewlets", including for Windows NT. Note that the "viewlet" library offers all the major software applications.

  3. Entry level for computer skills: Beginners - Learn the basics of Windows. Lots of topics covered at this site including troubleshooting.

  4. This site offers easy to understand tutorials on how computer files are set up using My Computer. The layout of the page lets you find the relevant topics quickly.

  5. This Microsoft Word document is a lengthy but good introduction to Windows. It uses simple exercises to guide the user. Don't be dissuaded by the fact that some of the last exercises refer to specific files. These can easily be adapted to suit your needs.
